2025 Service Requests

The total number of service requests was higher than average in January (206 requests compared to a five-year average of 167). Categories that were substantially higher than average include rodents, ticks, and dead birds. The number of dead bird reports is probably higher than usual because media messages about avian malaria are increasing public awareness of birds. Tick-related service requests are more numerous than average (37 compared to a five-year average of 22) because of a special project evaluating the presence of ticks in yards which has only been conducted during the past three years.
Service requests in the category “other” included requests regarding cockroaches and mites.
